Vernon George Vern Fast Friday February 25th 2022

Vern Fast
After a yearlong battle with pancreatic cancer Vern Fast passed away at the age of 79 at home with his children by his side.
He leaves behind to mourn his passing his daughter Renae and her husband Kevin, their children Madison and Hunter; son Matthew and his wife Melanie. He also leaves behind his sister Grace and brothers, Harold, Milton and Henry. Vern is predeceased by his wife Edith (nee Enns), father George, mother Elizabeth, and sister Leona.
Vern and Edith were married in 1968 and after living a couple of years in Winnipeg they moved to Kleefeld where they raised their children. Throughout his life, Vern enjoyed spending time with family, especially in the outdoors fishing, camping, and time milling about in the yard. Vern was a lifelong volunteer, coaching youth baseball and hockey, giving his time to Boys Brigades, and ushering in various churches that he attended. He also co-founded Steinbach Power Products where he was a co-owner for over 20 years. He will be remembered for his humble and peaceful demeaner, friendly smile, warm hugs, and non-judgemental approach. He will be missed dearly by all those who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Grace Bible Church, 366 Oakwood Avenue, Winnipeg.
Donations in memory of Vern may be made to Mennonite Central Committee – Ukrainian Emergency Response.
