Obituary
Join us in remembering a loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend. Vern was predeceased by his parents Lewis and Edith Major, sister Florence and brother Donald. He leaves behind his wife Mary of 64 years, son Michael (Willerma), daughter Joanne, grand daughters Amanda (Kevin) and Luisa (Kiefer), brother Lloyd and sister Alma and many nieces and nephews.
He was born on the farm in Strachan, Alberta. Later when he was at a young age, the family moved to Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. As a young man he left Rocky Mtn. House and moved to Port Moody, BC. This is where, in 1956, he met the love of his life, Mary Campbell. They married in 1958.
Dad’s work took him to many different places. In 1962 we moved to Fort St. John. and later he worked on dams in Hudson’s Hope, Mica Creek, New Mexico, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Chile and then transferred back to New Mexico before retiring in 1989 to their home at Twin Lakes. They spent many years enjoying their life there and entertaining many friends and family who visited over the years. They did a lot of traveling while retired. Later they moved to Penticton.
Dad left a lasting imprint with everyone that knew him.
He is loved and will be missed but never forgotten.
