WILSON, Vera Pauline
April 5, 1930 – February 18, 2022
With much sadness the family announces the passing of Vera at the Seasons Retirement Community Brantford. Beloved wife of the late Earl E. Wilson (2004). Cherished sister of Alice E. Lucke of Richfield, Minnesota. Loving mother of Sandra-Lee Hobbs (Rick), of Lindsay, and Brian (Valerie) Wilson, of Brantford. Dear grandmother of Matthew Wilson (Annie Morneau) and Marissa Wilson-Fox (Malakai Fox) and Michelle, David and the late Kaitlyn Hobbs. Predeceased by her parents Henry and Matilda Lucke of Strasbourg, Sask. Graduated in 1951 from the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon as a Registered Nurse, Vera served as a hospital public health nurse, a VON and a clinic nurse throughout her career. She was also a 68-year member of Beta Sigma Phi – Chapter MA1246. Vera lived most of her life in Ottawa with Earl, who was owner of Riverside Pharmacy.
Friends will be received at the McCleister Funeral Home, 495 Park Road North, Brantford on Thursday, March 10, 2022, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service being held in the Chapel at 11:00 am. Covid protocol requires those attending to wear masks. Cremation has taken place. Internment will be in Ottawa in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Ontario or Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
