It is with heavy hearts that we announce Vera Grace (Murray) Mersereau, beloved wife of the late Charles Burton Mersereau Jr., passed away Saturday,May 21, 2022, at the age of 82. Born in Upper Blackville, NB, Vera was the daughter of the late Hugh and Emma (Connors) Murray. A lifetime resident of Blackville, Vera was proud of her involvement in many community and church activities. Mom’s lifelong passion was her family. She was a devoted wife and mother to five children and dearly loved by all.
In the early years Vera worked at various jobs in and around the village. After having her children, Vera devoted her time into taking care of her family. Her delicious meals, blue-ribbon baking, and her pickling creations that came straight from her beautiful gardens, were sought after staples around the table. With her children all proudly grown and on their way, Vera took an upgrading course that lead to her eventually becoming a much-loved instructor for the course. In addition to her love of colorful flowers, plants and puzzles, Vera will be lovingly remembered for her sharp wit and keen sense of humor.
Vera is survived by: daughters: Carla Fraser (Robert) of Holden, Mass.; Twila Sturgeon (Bentley) of Gray Rapids, NB; Krista Cornish (Brad) of Buckeye, AZ; son: Troy (Colleen) of Blackville, NB; sisters: Jean Bragdon (Richard) of Stafford Springs, Connecticut; Edna McCarthy of Upper Blackville, NB; Ramona MacDonald of Blissfield, NB; grandchildren: Marissa, Daniel, Kayla, Alex, Michala, Kaelyn and Jared; great-grandchild: Stella and many nieces and nephews.
