Obituary of Velma Marlene Reid
REID, VELMA MARLENE
With heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Velma Marlene Reid of Lincoln, NB, wife of the late Stanley “Stan” Reid which occurred on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital surrounded by her family. Born on August 13, 1937 in Stanley, NB, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Harriet (Dunphy) Hossack.
Velma is survived by her sons, Danny Reid (Cheryl) and Barry Reid (Heather); grandchildren, Jamie, Lindsay (Mike), Lisa (Brad), Krista (Trevor), Stacey (Mike), Christopher (Shawna) and Michael; great grandchildren, Meah, Cohen, Henry, Nora, Charlie, Martha, Alec and Tanner; sisters, Janet Burns (Marvin) and Barbara Greenman; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Geoffrey “Geoff” Reid; siblings, Pauline O’Hara (Ron) and Billy Hossack (Kay); brother in law, Jim Greenman.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 2 pm with Pastor Gordon Mowry officiating. Interment will take place in Williamsburg Community Cemetery, Williamsburg, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick or the Williamsburg Community Cemetery. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
