Veikko Herman Maki Tuesday March 1st 2022

In loving memory of Veikko Herman “Vic” Maki, 78 years who passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Pioneer Manor, Sudbury. Beloved husband of Seija (Anttila) Maki. Loving father of Kevin (Jo-Anne), Brian (Pauline) and Lisa (Andre). Cherished grandfather of Brianna, Kyla, Ben and Brett. Dear son of Herman and Hilja (Makela) Maki both predeceased. Dear brother of Kathy (Richard), Kauko (Lois), Gertrude (Moe predeceased), Paul and Anne (Pete). Sadly missed by nieces and nephews. Veikko was a proud hardrock miner having worked at various mining companies retiring from Technica where he left many friends. A self-sufficient man he built several homes retiring on his farm where he built his last home. The farm was a place he very much enjoyed. In younger days he was a pilot. He enjoyed spending time at his camp on Elbow Lake. An accomplished woodworker he created many saunas. He will be remembered for his inspired work ethic and devotion to his loving family. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson Foundation would be appreciated. At the family’s request, there will be no funeral visitation or service. Cremation with interment in the family plot at the Civic Cemetery. For donations or messages of condolence, www.lougheedfuneralhomes.com
