With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Vanessa Elaine Beek of Boiestown, NB, wife of the late Shane Beek, on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at Hospice Fredericton. Born on September 23, 1960 in New Bandon, NB, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Delores (Harris) Lyons.
Vanessa is survived by her daughter, Amanda Nash of Fredericton; chosen sons, Draper Bruce (Angie), Mike MacKay (Rachel); chosen granddaughter, Chloe; sisters, Patricia Hunter (Alex) of Prince George, Lillian O’Donnell of New Bandon; brothers, Lorne Lyons (Peggy) of Prince George, Eugene Lyons of Fredericton, Michael Lyons (Susan) of Fredericton; mother-in-law, Frances Beek of Taxis River; special nieces, Maggie Lyons MacFarlane (Nicki), Jacquelyn Fowler; several other nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Vanessa was predeceased by her son, Adam Beek; brother, Gary Lyons; father-in-law, Ward Beek; and sister-in-law, Tammy Lyons.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 6-8 pm. A Funeral will be held at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at 2 pm with Pastor Rick Brewer officiating. The service will be live webcast through the funeral home website. Interment will take place in Parker’s Ridge Cemetery. A reception will follow at Gateway of Hope in Boiestown. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Hospice Fredericton or Parkers Ridge Cemetery. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
