Valerie Carol Osinchuk December 24 1949 July 2 2022

Valerie, daughter of Peter and Evangeline Osinchuk, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2022, from cancer with her family by her side.
She was born December 24, 1949, in Mundare, Alberta and married Allister “Scotty” Gardiner in 1971, who predeceased her in 1993. Surviving her are her daughter Lesley Gardiner-Falle (Leonard); son Allister Gardiner; granddaughters YoHanna and Madison; sister Shay Sharon Brison (Darrel); brother Peter Allen Osinchuk (Patsy); nephew Sean Brison (Trisha); niece Lacey Collins (Trevor); grand-niece Danika; and grand nephews Dartanin, Jorestin and Brantley.
Val lived in Whitehorse, Yukon for 36 years and retired from the Yukon Government after working in Health and Social Services for 20 years. She lived her life to the fullest through simple pleasures; gardening, camping, and volunteering to organize all kinds of events that brought people together. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her grandchildren and family.
We will miss our mom, sister, auntie, friend and Baba profoundly. We are so grateful for the time we had with her. She faced the challenges of her illness with grace, humour and determination. Through her example, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. We will always feel her presence in our hearts.
We send a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Kanachowski, Dr. Avrill, Dr. MacDonald and the teams at Homecare and Wind River Hospice House for supporting Val through her end-of-life journey in her way and on her terms.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Valerie Carol Osinchuk December 24 1949 July 2 2022..
