Valentine Kevin Sturdy 2022

Valentine Kevin Sturdy passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 26th, 2022.
Val was preceded in death by his mother Mary; father, Kenneth; brother, Robin and his sister Zoë. He is survived by his half-brothers Lochy and Kim and half-sister Honey. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend.
Val was born February 14, 1951, in Loughborough England. He immigrated to Canada as a child, via New York aboard the RMS Ascania. He grew up in Calgary and lived in Cochrane for many years.
Val faced mental health challenges, but thrived in life. He worked at the Calgary Board Education as a stock clerk for 40 years where he received multiple awards for his dedication.
Val was well travelled and had a great love for the Kootenays. He was an avid collector and a big fan of music, sports, and especially cinema. He will forever be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and great sense of humor.
A Celebration of Val’s life will be held at Pierson’s Funeral Service (4121 17th Ave SE) on Tuesday, May 3rd 2022 at 2:00 pm with a reception to follow.
