Obituary
Trudy Lena Prikker passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Dr. Gendreau Personal Care Home at the age of 86 years.
Trudy was born in Ochre River, MB on August 14, 1935, the second oldest of six children born to Detert and Steintja Wildeboer. She would often reminisce about her childhood education at Wroxton School in the Makinak District. She made many life long friends there that she kept in touch with through the years. Trudy was a member of the Grace Baptist Church and spent many years singing in the choir and being a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.
In her teens, she worked at Peterson’s Bakery in Dauphin and learned the art of baking. She made the most amazing torte cakes. Trudy was an accomplished seamstress and made many of her own designs often tweaking a pattern until it was perfect.
On June 18, 1954 Trudy married Theodor (Ted) Prikker. Together they farmed the land that his parents had purchased when they immigrated from Germany in 1928. After the land was rented to neighbors, Trudy became an avid gardener. She loved her flowers and flower beds and it became like a park in her yard. It was so beautiful in the summer and she loved the countless hours she spent tending to it.
Trudy was predeceased by her husband Ted, her son John, her son-in-law Archie, her sister-in-law Lydia Zytnyk and her sister-in-law Grace Wildeboer.
She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish many fond memories; her daughter Kathleen of Brandon, MB, her grandson Christopher Henry (Jenny) of Dauphin, her granddaughter Rachel (John Taylor) of Dauphin along with 5 great grandchildren, her brother Karl and Marjorie Wildeboer of Brandon, MB, her sister Emma and Joe Robertson of Winnipeg, MB, her brother David and Lynne Wildeboer of Ste. Rose du Lac, MB, and her brother Leonard Wildeboer of Sherwood Park, AB along with numerous nieces and nephews.
