It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Michael James Troyer. Following a two-year battle with cancer, he died peacefully surrounded by his family.
He leaves behind his best friend and wife of 32 years, Lindsay Worden, as well as his children, his pride and joy, Cameron and Hilary. He was a loving son to Loretta (nee Kennedy) and the late Peter, older brother to Anne (Marty), Paul (Ann-Louise), and Lise (Chris), son-in-law to the late Bob and Beverley Worden, brother-in-law to Peter (Ann) and Cathy (Brian), and Uncle Michael or Muncle to many nieces and nephews.
Michael enjoyed his childhood in Pointe Claire, as well as his weekends and summer at Orford Lake. He was an active young man, in sport and in social circles. His father’s wish that he marry a skier, a priority in their family, came true in 1990 when Michael married Lindsay. He made friends wherever he went – through their moves to Burlington then Kitchener and back to Beaconsfield. Throughout his life, Michael was the ultimate host and created countless memories with his family and friends at some of his favourite places: Orford, the fishing camp, Goose Rocks, and finally his dream farm in Antigonish.
We are heartbroken to see him go, but we are so grateful for the time we had.
Please join us in a celebration of his life on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 2pm at Voluntas, 4695 St-Jean Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Qc H9H 2A7.
In lieu of flowers we would appreciate donations in his memory to the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence.
As long as the sun shines…
The wind blows…
The rain falls…
You will live on inside of me forever
For that is all my heart knows
We offer our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of TROYER Michael
December 27 and hope that their memory may be a source of comfort during this difficult time. Your thoughts and kind words are greatly appreciated.
Death notice for the town of: Kirkland, Province: Quebec
Lindsay,
Please accept my condolences to you and your family at the death of Michael. I recall how close and fun-loving you two always were at the many fundraising events for the Residence. And how you always smiled and laughed when you spoke about how you met and first dated. Your relationship was an inspirational love story. You are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
With deepest sympathy – Dorothy Lalonde
