Trea Rankin July 16, 1924 – May 31, 2022
Our Lord called our dear Mother home to heaven at the age of 97 on Tuesday, May 31st, 2022, lovingly surrounded in prayer and song with family by her side. She is now reunited with her beloved husband Danny (d. 1977).
Trea will be greatly missed by her children Ronnie (Blake), Joe (Dianne), Carmel (Tom), Michael (Ann), James (Liz), and Bernadine (James). She is predeceased by her son Kevin (d. 2020). Trea was a beloved grandmother to Ashley (Wayne), Sarah (Rob), Jesse, Kerri (John), Lauren (Matt), Rachael (Colin), Kaitlyn (Fred), Daniel, Matthew (Jessica), Kirk, Olivia, Julia, Fiona, Bridget, and Liam. As well, a dedicated great-grandmother to Benjamin, Ethan, Aiden, Avery, Logan, Calvin, Mackenzie, Remington, Lachlan and Nathan.
Trea is predeceased by her siblings Hugh (Ann), Shawn (Helen), Jimmy (Georgina), Malachy (Sonia), Margaret (Jim), Lawrence (Florence), Brenda (Vince), Sheila, and survived by her sister Bernadette (the late Alex).
She was always dedicated to her faith and her family. Despite the fact that she was widowed at a young age with 7 children, she persevered and never forgot her prayers. She was a mother to many, a friend to more, and a loyal servant of God.
Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home at 2035 Weston Road, Toronto, Ontario on Friday, June 3, from 2:00-9:00 p.m. A funeral mass will take place on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 9:30am at All Saints Roman Catholic Church 1415 Royal York Road, in Toronto. Burial to follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery at 6933 Tomken Road, Mississauga, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Ontario and Share Life would be appreciated.
