Wren Torgerson died peacefully, with his family at his side, on February 6, 2022. Wren leaves behind his loving wife of 66 years, Brenda; 3 sons Kim (Naydene), Cam (Marilyn), Mark (Wanda); 9 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his 12 brothers and sisters; daughter Colleen; and great-granddaughter Freya. Wren was born in Saltcoats, SK in 1933 and moved to Glenboro, MB when he was 13.
Wren worked for MTS for 17 years. In 1971, he moved his family to Vernon, BC to work for Okanagan Tel. Then he moved to Penticton, BC in 1973 to become a Construction Manager for Okanagan Tel, and he worked for B.C. Tel until he retired in 1992. One of his proudest accomplishments was working on the TransCanada light guide system.
Anyone that ever met him will remember his great sense of humour, kindness, and generosity.
Special thanks to all the doctors and nurses at Kelowna General Hospital for making his last days comfortable.
