In sadness, love, and gratitude, we announce that Tim embarked upon his transmigrational journey of the soul on October 22, 2022 at 68 years of age, at home. Beloved husband of Valerie Barnett for 40 years. Loving father of Lindsay Logsdon (Brian Ferreira), Brittany Logsdon (Anthony Wadlow), Taylor Logsdon (Jenna Sommers) and Cassidy Logsdon (Matt Andrews). Precious “Grampy” of Lynden, Raina, Robin, Gaia, Corbin, Elliot, Lily, Zoe and Kaia. Predeceased by his parents Leroy Logsdon and Susan Baxter. Dear brother of the late Brooke Logsdon, Jamie Logsdon and Mark Logsdon.
Tim took Fine Arts at the University of Windsor and was a very talented artist who saw beauty all around him.
Tim was retired after 33 years at General Motors. There, he was known for his ability to solve challenging problems, as a skilled UNO player, and for the spicy curry left-overs he brought for lunch.
He had a deep love for nature and the outdoors in which he enjoyed walking, hiking, and canoeing, especially in the great Algonquin Park- a Mecca for his soul. This love he shared with his wife, Valerie. Tim loved his family and friends deeply and found great joy in spending time with them.
He had the “gift of the gab” and seemed to be able to talk to just about anyone about anything and enjoy himself while doing so. From politics to religion, philosophy to history, it seemed that Tim knew something about everything- except for maybe how to use his email account (which he eventually did learn!). He loved to laugh, often to the point of tears and his humour and jokes kept his loved ones smiling, laughing and sometimes groaning. He passed this humour along to his children, who often used it at his expense!
Music was a constant companion and passion in his life and he was an accomplished mandolin player.
Though he sometimes liked to quote the adage “If it’s nae Scottish, it’s crap!” he loved a diverse range of folk and acoustic music from around the world. Chief among these was the Celtic music of Scotland and Ireland.
Above all Tim had a giant heart that touched so many people. He was always there when a family member or friend needed him and gave of himself generously. It seemed that what he loved most was to spend time with his friends and family. He will be deeply missed and remembered with love, fondness and laughter.
Cremation to take place with a memorial visitation on Saturday October 29, 2022 from 2-4 pm at Families First 585 Sandwich Street South, Amherstburg.
