It is with great sadness that the family of Tim Mifflin announce his passing at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on Friday April 15th, 2022, in his 64th year, surrounded by his devoted family. Cherished son of the late Clayton and Thelma Mifflin and son-in-law of the late Jack and Marjorie Crawford. Beloved husband and best friend of Deb. Proud father of Christopher (Andrea Meredith). Loving brother of Sandra Couture and her husband Marcel. Brother-in-law of Joan DeKoning, Pat Cox, Beth Crawford, and John and Christine Crawford. Proud uncle to many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
Tim or Inspector Mifflin started his Policing Career on January 7th, 1980, with the Chatham Police Service. During his 32 years of service, he worked in various areas of this Service from the Road to the Criminal Investigation Division. Tim was promoted to Inspector where he continued to play his part in the development of the now Chatham-Kent Police Service. On the 30th of December 2012, Inspector Mifflin retired from the Chatham-Kent Police Service and during the past 10 years he and Deb have been enjoying retirement by golfing and travelling down south. Inspector Mifflin shares with many of the past retirees the honour of having been one of the members who helped shape and develop this Organization that we now call the Chatham-Kent Police Service. One of Tim’s most proud accomplishments with CKPS, was the lead of the Chatham-Kent Police Service team that successfully implemented the BlackBerry project. He was known throughout the country for this work and the winning of the BlackBerry Wireless Achievement Award in 2011.
Over the past 32 years many fellow officers have had the fortune to have been able to get to know Inspector Mifflin, whether it was early in his career as a peer or throughout the decades of his service. Some also had the greater fortune to have, throughout this time, to call Tim their friend. Tim will be missed by all.
Tim was also involved with Chatham Goodfellows for 30 years, 20 years of which was spent as a board member. He was very proud of his involvement with the organization to ensure there was No Child without a Christmas.
