Bernadette “Betty” Tichkowsky (nee Roberts)
It is with great sadness and much love that we announce the sudden passing of our dear wife, mom, grandma, and friend on December 15, 2022.
Betty will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 48 years, Ken; her children Laura (Dan), Glen (Ashley), and Neil, and her beloved grandchildren Marcus, Claire, Rachel, Oliver, and Emily.
Betty was born in Westlock, Alberta on September 16, 1952. Upon moving to Edmonton, she attended O’Leary High School and obtained her Education Degree from the University of Alberta. After meeting Ken and starting her teaching career, they had three children. Betty devoted her time to her family. Following a return to part time teaching (primarily home economics) Betty officially retired to spend time raising her beloved grandchildren. Betty enjoyed cards, hiking, travelling and was always up for adventure. Most of all she loved spending time with family and making others feel welcome in her home. She will be dearly missed.
Betty’s Funeral and Celebration of Life will be held at the Star-Peno Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church (RR 193, 1 mile south of Hwy 45, Lamont County) on December 28, 2022, with formal funeral service (followed by interment) at 10:00 AM. The service will be in English with hymns in Ukrainian.
A celebration of her life, with eulogy and stories, will follow at the Parish Hall next to the church at 12:00 PM. A hot lunch will be served. Please feel at ease to join us for both or either.
In memory, a donation can be made to the Parkinson Association of Alberta.
