Thomas Kent
1942-2022
Passed peacefully at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital on
Tuesday, August 30th 2022 at the age of 80. Thomas was the beloved
husband of the late Mary Kent (nee Stone)(d. 2018); devoted father of
Jennifer (David) Kent and Barbara (Chuck) Jerome; proud Poppy of Colin
(Jessica), Andrew (Cassidy), Caitlyn, Thomas Joseph
“T.J.” and Jamie; Step-Grandpa to Zachary (Kristen),
Rachel (Blair) and Samuel (Solenn); and dear brother of Ita (Albert).
Thomas is predeceased by his wife Mary and his siblings Evelyn (Bill),
Mary (Mike), George (Linda) and Ignatius “Nish”
(Rosemary).
Thomas was also a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. A
warm thank you to Emma Connors and Stan O’Brien for being
present in the weeks leading up to his passing.
A special
thanks to Marie Young and the Beaver Run crew who were instrumental in
his quality of life in PEI.
Thomas was known for his
community service with the Upper Room, the CNIB, Knights of Columbus
and his work at the provincial court house in Charlottetown as a
Commissionaire.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the
nurses who provided excellent care, especially Christina, Cynthia,
Jacqueline, Karen, Linda, Toby and Sarah; and a thanks to Courtney of
the security staff who went above and beyond her duty to visit him
daily.
The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday,
September 17, 2022 at St. Eugene’s Church, Covehead at 10:30
a.m. with interment to follow in the Parish
Cemetery.
For those who wish, donations in Thomas’ honour to
the Alzheimer’s Society or to West Lincoln Memorial Hospital
in gratitude for the amazing nurse crew and staff who provided loving
daily care for 4 months.
