Theresa Eisnor Gauthier Saturday January 8th 2022

Theresa Eisnor (Gauthier)
(July 30, 1948 – January 8, 2022)
Surrounded by loved ones, Theresa passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital. While her family grieves her loss, they feel gratitude for her life.
Theresa, known to her loved ones as “T”, was born in Powassan Ontario. She was the second youngest of six children, five girls and one boy. Her farm life upbringing built a strong character. She was a hard worker with a compassionate heart. She played on boy’s sports teams (dominated) and always wore a french manicure.
She met her husband Don 50 years ago the old fashioned way – at a bar in Sault Ste. Marie. Don was working as a branch manager at Simplex and Theresa was working as a Diagnostic Imaging Technician at Plummer Hospital. They married in 1972 while living in Windsor and moved to Burlington in 1975, which is when they started their awesome family. Theresa continued to work as a Diagnostic Imaging Technician at McMaster University Hospital until her retirement in 2012.
She will be missed by her loving husband Don, beloved daughters, Jackie and Chrissie and her dearly loved son in laws, Mark Findlay and Mark Miller. Let it be known that upon her death bed, both Marks were holding T’s hands and sobbing while her strong and supportive daughters and husband looked on. You can’t make this stuff up.
Theresa held a special place in her heart for her grandson’s Jake and Christopher, ending every encounter with them “Love You This Much” while holding her arms out as widely as she could. She was very proud of her grandsons and the fine young men that they have become.
Her strength of character and altruistic nature are legacies that have been passed down through her children and grandchildren. Theresa would give often to those in need, both with her time and money. She was a Brownie Pack Leader (Tawny Owl), dance costume seamstress, church choir coordinator and chauffeur for her children’s extra curricular activities. While volunteering at a men’s shelter in Hamilton, T would buy coats for patrons in need. She never wanted attention or acknowledgement for her generosity. It was simply important to her that these men knew that someone cared about them.
Theresa enjoyed a full life of world travel, boating, curling, bowling and dancing. These activities were often enjoyed with a glass of wine.
Theresa will also be missed by her sisters Irene (Barry) and Anne (Pete), her sister in laws Linda (Eddie) and Paula (John) and her best friend, Liz Fox.
Messages of condolence and shared memories can be left at Smith’s Funeral Home.

  2. So sorry for your loss. Theresa was such a wonderful person . I worked with her at MUMC in Diagnostic Imaging. She was so welcoming when I started and did so much to help all those around her. She was such a lady, Always immaculately dressed. Every day she worked harder than anyone else and still found time to spend a little extra time and energy on her patients.

  3. Theresa was pure “class”. She was a beautiful woman inside and out!
She was a strong independent woman with a huge heart and a great sense of humor. She had the best laugh and that’s how I will remember her! May she rest in Paradise! My condolences to Don Jackie and Mark and family and Chrissie and Mark. She will be missed!
