Obituary
It is with sadness the family of Theodor (Ted) Tatomir announce his passing on March 14, 2022 at Royal University Hospital at the age of 83 years.
Ted was born May 29, 1938 on the farm SE 27-24-16 W3, near Mondou, SK. He grew up in a big family with 15 siblings. Ted went to school at Mondou until Grade 9. After finishing Grade 9, he went to work on the railroad at Lille, SK. He started his career as a mechanic at Hunt-Graber in 1957 and worked there for 41 years. Ted started dating his wife Joan in 1963 and they were married June 26, 1965. They made their home of 56 years in Elrose, SK where they raised 4 beautiful girls. Ted enjoyed cooking, volunteering at the rink, a good game of smear, curling, hunting, fishing, helping on the farm and especially watching his grandchildrens’ activities. Ted and Joan really enjoyed going to dances together in their younger years and going to the casino in their retirement.
Ted is survived by his wife Joan (English) Tatomir; his daughters Barbara Loitz, Terri Lynn (Neil) Walker, Christine Tatomir, Jennifer (Rob) Fitzpatrick; his grandchildren Courtney Walker, Paige (Travis) Paproski, Ashley (Tanner) Hann, Matthew Tatomir, Brooke Fitzpatrick; and his siblings John (Donna) Tatomir, Roy Tatomir, Jim (Marg) Tatomir, Helen (Dave) Black; his brothers and sisters-in-law Ila Tatomir, Dell & David LeBoeuf, Colleen & Dale Hawrilyw, Fern & Doug Ludwig and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Ted’s Life will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Elrose United Church with Pastor Deborah Springer officiating. Memorial Donations may be made to the Elrose Uniplex.
