Thelma Muriel Cail
1938-2022
Thelma Muriel Cail, 84 of Kenneth E Spencer Memorial Home and
formally of Riverview NB passed away peacefully at her residence on
Monday, February 28, 2022. Born in Murray Corner NB, she was
the daughter of the late Eldon Allen and Jennie (Trenholm)
Allen.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Ralph Cail, two sons
Mark (Pam), Stephen, sister Joan Mundle, three grandchildren Lexie,
Amanda and Kurt, one great grandchild Theo and several nieces and
nephews. Aside from her parents she was predeceased by her brother
Lyman and brother in-law Harry Mundle.
Thelma graduated in 1956 Richibucto High School. She then
moved to Moncton NB. Her first job was at Imperial Tobacco she worked
there for a year. Following working at Imperial Tobacco she decided to
attend Oultons College for their typograph and dictation courses, she
could type 55 words per minute. She had the most magnificent
handwriting. After completing her course she got a job as an
accountant at T-Eaton Company she worked their until they closed the
old foundry street location. She was a member of the Bethel
Presbyterian Church and taught Sunday School. Following having two
sons she returned to work at the Metropolitan Store.
Thelma met Ralph in 1959 and then married in 1963. Thelma
enjoyed camping in Richibucto with her sons and grandchildren. She
would spend the majority of the time in the camper playing cards with
her grandchild Amanda. Sitting around the campfire with her family
telling stories and roasting hot dogs were some of her fondest
memories. Every spring Thelma would plant a garden at her home in
Riverview to spend the days out there enjoying the outdoors. She also
enjoyed going snowmobiling with her husband Ralph.
Everyone always loved her cooking if it was chicken soup to
her biscuits, rolls or bread everyone always left the house with their
bellies full. Every Christmas she would also make her famous cherry
cheesecake which was a family favourite.
Thelma always had a very creative side from her cursive
writing to her oil paintings, to this day her home in Riverview has
many of her masterpieces hung.
Her family will be receiving friends and relatives on
Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 6 – 8 pm at Cobb’s
Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview
(869-2007). A service to celebrate her life will take place
at the funeral home on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 1:00 pm.
