Obituary of Thelma Ledgerwood
Thelma Joan Ledgerwood (nee Siegrist) March 15th, 1933 – Sept. 4Th, 2022 Thelma passed peacefully at Wynfield Residence in Oshawa on September 4th, 2022 at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late Harold Ledgerwood (1989).
Mother to Rick (Merope) of Scotland and Brad (Dorethy) of Whitby (presently Sophiasburg). Grandmother to Hal and Jace, and sole grandparent to Liam (Hope) of Ailsa Craig, and Mitchell (Stephanie Irvine) of Oshawa. Great Grandmother to Isabelle and Vera of Ailsa Craig. Lifetime resident of Oakville, she spent her final five years in Oshawa/Whitby to be closer to family as her health declined.
Thelma was a passionate and prolific visual artist in the Oakville artistic community. As an art teacher, she inspired many others in artistic pursuits. In her golden years, she enjoyed world travel and singing choral music in the Tempest Choir.
Thelma will be remembered as a charismatic, self-assured lady. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Many thanks to the staff at the Wynfield residence for their compassionate care in her final years.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the near future.
