On Saturday, September 24th, 2022 our lives were forever changed when hurricane Fiona tragically took the life of Thelma Leamon (nee Herritt) at the age of 73. She was a beloved partner, a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Thelma will be fondly remembered by many for her 30 years of service for the office of Dr. Richard Taor. She thoroughly enjoyed each and every interaction with the patients as well as assisting with their needs. After retiring from Dr. Taor’s, she dedicated herself to another 15 years of providing home care for many families in the province of North Scotia. When not engaged in work, throughout her life, Thelma was an active member within her church and the Port aux Basques Kinette Club. She was an avid outdoors person who loved hunting, fishing and hiking.
Thelma was passionate about life and lived it to the fullest. She was a beautiful soul who touched the lives of everyone she met. She will be forever missed.
In keeping with Thelma’s wishes, a private visitation for family with a prayer service officiated by longtime family friend Rev. Jane Allen and cremation have taken place. At the request of the family, donations may be made to the Canadian Red Cross hurricane Fiona fund in her memory or a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements were in the care of East Haven Funeral Home Inc, 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques NL, info@easthavenfuneralhome.com (709)-695-2300 www.easthavenfuneralhome.com
