Thelma
Parker-Berry, of Stoney Creek, passed away in the comforts of her home
on Saturday, January 1, 2022. Born in Stoney Creek she was the only
daughter of the late Charles and Eva (Wright)
Parker.
She worked
for many years as a private secretary within the insurance industry.
Following that, she travelled the Atlantic provinces as a
Manufacturer’s agent with lingerie lines. She could also be
seen putting in many retail hours for Clinique and various fragrance
companies at Eaton’s, the Bay and Sears. She was very active
in the Red Hat Society starting her own group, The Berry Red Hot
Hootenannies. She loved entertaining and was an excellent hostess and
cook, who also catered many events. She was determined, strong willed,
and also a very classy lady, dressing elegantly head to toe. She loved
to party and could play games all night. Her smile and laughter would
light up a room. Above all she loved Jesus and hosted many Bible
studies in her home.
Thelma will
be deeply missed by her daughter Joanne (Terry) Branscombe, grandson
Ben (Christina) Branscombe, granddaughter Deanna (Jeff) Johnson, and
precious great grandchildren Eva, Isaiah, Hazel, Bridget and Sadie.
Also survived by her dear brother Richard (Joyce) Parker, and several
nieces and nephews.
She was
pre-deceased by her loving husband, Harold Berry, and two great
granddaughters, born too early and into the arms of Jesus, Evara and
Hope Johnson.
The family is
very grateful to the team of loving caregivers who over the years gave
Mother the best of care enabling us to keep her at home. Jenn Kay and
Karen Prosser, there are no words to thank you
enough.
