Passed away peacefully at his home on April 19, 2022; age 82. Terrell “Terry” Brian Norman of Alexandria, born on March 30, 1940 in Middleton, Nova Scotia. Terry leaves behind his first wife Sheila (Teed) of Springhill, Nova Scotia, and their four beloved children; Terry Jr. Norman (Colette) of Vankleek Hill, Wayne Norman of Hawkesbury, Holly-Dee Norman of Cornwall and Mark Norman of Lethbridge, Alberta. Cherished brother of Mona Norman of Alexandria, and Wayne Norman of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Terry is predeceased by his second wife, Sylvia (Gagnon), mother of his youngest daughter Maureen Norman; also predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Florence Norman (Collins), and one sister, Loretta Bourque of Pierrefonds, Quebec. Proud grandfather of Valerie, Kaleigh, Heather, Joshua, Janie, Wayne Jr., Justin, Kayla, Cameron and Caleb. Loved by 9 great-grandchildren. Terry was always a family man, looking after his Mom and siblings. He began truck driving at the age of 15 years old, and worked for a few maritime companies such as M & D, until moving to Ontario in the early 1970’s, where he began driving for GTL Transportation in Alexandria. After driving, he then created and ran Central dispatch. He soon became well known in town and you may very well have found him enjoying time with his friends at the Legion where he was a proud member, enjoying a quart or two of Labatt 50. He loved his family and also loved having friends and family over for a steak BBQ. He was never far if anyone needed a helping hand, he was always there to help. He had a fond heart for Hampton, Nova Scotia, where he would visit at least twice a year. He leaves behind many great friends and loved ones. He had a great love for life and a contagious, joyous laugh. He was a loving father and we will miss him greatly. In honoring Terry’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place. A casting ceremony will take place at a later date in Hampton, Nova Scotia. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main Street South, Alexandria, (613) 525-2772. In Terry’s Memory, Memorial Donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated by the family. As a memorial to Terry, a tree will be planted in a memory woods. A tree grows – memories live.
