Teresa Gail Sharp – age 66, of Knoxville, Tennessee, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, after her battle with cancer. Born February 13, 1955, in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Roy W. and Jennie B. Brewer (Spurgeon). Teresa was a loving, giving, and independent woman. A caring mother, she loved her children and gave much of herself to them. She would ensure their needs were always taken care of, as well as most of their wants. As a child and the youngest of the Brewer five, she would often be found enjoying time with her siblings. As an adult, she became the first female manager of Western Auto, during a time when women did not supervise men, let alone those in an automotive store. Later in life, after addiction, Teresa came to know Jesus Christ as her Savior. To say this was life-altering would be an understatement. Establishing support groups for other women who had dealt with addiction and providing guidance to them was a hallmark of Teresa’s life. She would frequently give her testimony at shelters and to anyone who would stop and listen. She epitomized a witness for her Savior. In 2019, she received a cancer diagnosis. Even throughout all of the treatment, her fellow patients and staff at UT oncology would hear of how Jesus had made Heaven real to her, and how they too could have that same hope of salvation.
Teresa is survived by her three sons, Eric Sharp, Andrew Wheeler, and Eric Sharp II; seven grandchildren, Max Sharp, Luke Sharp, Gideon Sharp, Ezra Sharp, Bryleigh Wheeler, Brielle Wheeler, and Milo Wheeler; her one great-granddaughter Aria Sharp; her brothers, Tony Brewer and Roy Brewer; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Bill Brewer and Judy Brewer.
