Terence Patrick William Loney Friday March 25th 2022

Terence “Terry” Loney
January 23, 1955 – March 25th, 2022
It is with broken hearts that we share the sudden passing of Terry Loney. He leaves behind his sweetheart and best friend, Margo (née McDonald), his adoring children, Kyle (Ainslie) and Ali Catherwood (Michael) and his grandchildren who were the light of his life, Arden and Rowan Loney, his best chum George and Tommy Catherwood. His constant companion Deacon will miss time spent in his truck and with him at camp. He will be sadly missed by his brother Michael Loney (Rachel Bertrand), his in-law siblings, Sandra & Michael Mason, Dave & Jeannine McDonald, Frances & Robin Laking, and Roxane & Brent Zuck. He was the favorite uncle of Matthew Mason (Elandri) Taylor-Ann Sisk (Luke), Joshua Mason (Natalie), Courtney Stepp (Jared), Jeffrey McDonald (Jessica), Jaime Luck (Aaron) Kristina Petitclerc and Mathieu Petitclerc. Lauren Kennedy (Braden), William Laking, Taggart Zuck and Tessa Zuck. Son of George and Jeanette “Pat” Loney (predeceased) and son-in-law of Dolores McDonald (predeceased) and Larry & Anita McDonald. The Lauzon, McDonald and Beauparlant families along with all who knew him will miss Terry’s infectious, unique laugh, great stories, kindness, and generous spirit
Growing up in Garson he attended GFSS where he took part in many school activities and sports. He continued to have the “Falcon’s spirit” years later as Vice Chair of the Reunion Committee and the Chair of the Save GFSS Committee.
He shared his love of all sports with his children and was involved in their passions with coaching and managing hockey teams for Kyle and being a dance dad for Ali. He was involved in the NCMHA, Minor and Major PeeWee’s and managed the Laker’s AAA. Other volunteer groups he was involved in were the Cub Scouts, Rainbow Routes, the Local Citizens Board, and the Kukagami Camper’s Association.
He started working at a young age with his family at the Lodge on Kukagami and made many lasting friendships with re-visiting guest. He and Mike continued working to make Sportsman’s Lodge the place to go year-round. He met the love of his life at the Lodge, and he would often say “I took one look and had to find out who she was!” Soon they started their life together and recently celebrated their 40th anniversary. He was a salesman, entrepreneur, prospector, and consultant and will be missed by the many friends and business associates that he made throughout the years.
Terry was always a supporter of his sister-in-law and the work that was being done by Monarch Recovery Services. The family would appreciate donations to Monarch Recovery Services in his memory to help them continue to offer these services.
A celebration of Terry’s life will be held at the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury, on Saturday April 2nd, 2022, at 1:00 pm. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Friends may gather in the chapel after 12:30pm Saturday.
