Tena Mary Bannerman
September 3, 1938 – September 2, 2022
Tena passed away peacefully in Leask, SK with her family by her side on September 2, 2022 just minutes before her 84th birthday.
Tena was predeceased by her husband Roy; brothers: Ed and Denny; sisters: Marilyn and Ellen.
Tena is survived by her sons: Duane (Christine) and Cary (Melonie); six grandchildren: Andrew, Shawna, Mathew (Reneigh), Trevor, Chad, Lisa; great-granddaughter Sophia; brother Wayne.
Tena, an avid reader, loved school and always aspired to be a teacher. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education and taught elementary school for 35 years. Notably, she mentored many student teachers throughout her career.
All her life, Tena gave selflessly of her time to her church, to service groups, and to friends and family.
Special thanks to the staff at Wheatland Lodge for all their care and compassion.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Lion’s Recreation Center, MacDowall, SK. Private Family Interment will be held. Donations in the memory of Tena may be made to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, 1149 8 Street East, Saskatoon, SK S7H 0S3. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
