Ted Dillon 1951 2022

Obituary of Ted Dillon
Edward (Ted) Dillon, 71, of Wasaga Beach, Ontario, passed away on April 13, 2022 at Sunnybrook Hospital, surrounded by his beloved family.
He is survived by the love of his life, Patricia, wife of 47 joyous years; his daughter Amanda and his two sweet grandchildren, Ariela and Lucas; his daughter Sarah (Sean Newell); his sister Moya Johnson (Rick); brothers Michael (Michelle) and Peter (Janet); and a host of nieces and nephews. All will remember him for his kindness, generosity and wry sense of humour.
Ted was a curious, thoughtful and adventurous man. Never putting himself first, he created a life for his family that was full of possibility.
His passion for worldwide travel started as a teenager on a trip to Europe and a five-month honeymoon in a rented Renault camping across Europe. His travels continued throughout his life spanning the safaris of Africa, to the rolling hills of Ireland, observing the diverse species of the Galapagos, to world heritage sites like Machu Picchu and many more.
His thirst for knowledge earned him a BASc and MSc, and an MBA from the University of Toronto that provided him with a dynamic career in both Geological Engineering and Commercial Banking.
His passion for photography meant you never saw Ted without a camera, and he found great joy in his retirement participating in the Georgian Bay photography club.
His love for the outdoors took him mapping northern Canada, power boating the Great Lakes, skiing, hiking, golfing and feeding a variety of birds in his backyard.
Ted passed away after a 20-year battle with Cancer, and just like he dealt with all experiences in life, he managed his illness with strength and grace. His optimistic spirit, selflessness and courage will live on in all of those who loved him. Ted will be forever missed and carried in our hearts.
Friends will be recieved at the Jones Funeral Home on Thursday June 16, from 1:30 until time of Memorial Service at 2:30 in the chapel. Reception to follow.
The family would appreciate donations to the Sunnybrook Foundation in memory of Ted Dillon with donations specifically designated to the Odette Cancer Center as a small token of gratitude for the amazing care Ted received by the incredible staff at Sunnybrook.
