Takako (Tak) Tanaka
March 20, 1922 – April 24, 2022
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Tak (nee Arima) on Sunday April 24th at the age of 100. Lovingly remembered by sons Danny and Randy (Barb) and grandchildren Tyler, Kyle, Jordan (Isho), Kendra (Leticia), Matthew, and Scott (Allison). Cherished GG to Adalyn, Ethan, and Ata. Predeceased by her loving husband Zen, son Barry, parents Itaro and Same, brothers Masakazu and Mush, sister Tosh (Koji), and sister-in-law Daisy. Survived by brother Yonzie and sister-in-law Vi. Tak loved, and was loved by her many nieces and nephews, and friends. She will be greatly missed.
Special thanks to Mercy and the caring staff at Aberdeen Gardens Retirement Home, staff at Cawthra Gardens Long Term Care Residence, and the doctors, nurses and care team at Hamilton General Hospital, and Trillium Health Partners – Mississauga Hospital.
In keeping with Tak’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
A joint visitation will be held for Tak and her sister Tosh Goto (December 15, 2021). Family and friends of Tak and Tosh are invited to visit Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Rd. East, Hamilton, Ontario 905-574-0405 on Friday May 27, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a joint service of remembrance at Bay Gardens Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday May 28 at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
