Sylvia Melanson 1925 2022

Sylvia Melanson, 97, of Moncton, NB passed away on July
4, 2022 at the Moncton Hospital. Originally from Bexhill, England; she
was the daughter of Frederick and Nellie (Probert)
Chapman.
Sylvia was a veteran of WWII where she served in the
English Land Army. She came to Canada as a war bride, becoming a
homemaker who enjoyed knitting, sewing and spending time with her
family and friends. She knitted and sewed item for several charities
and was a volunteer for Special
Olympics.
Sylvia is survived by her children Susan Comery (late
Allan), Christine Carroll (Wayne), Jane Estey (Holson), Irene Durham,
Lawrence Melanson (late Suzanne), Steven Melanson and Margaret Pitre
(John). As well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren and several
nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sylvia was predeceased by
her husband, Armand Melanson (1979); her brother, Fred and sister Rene
Jedrzejewski.
Arrangements are in the trusted care of Fergusons
Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd, Moncton (858-1995). In keeping with
Sylvia’s wishes a private graveside service will take place
at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery.
In memory of Sylvia, memorial donations to the Moncton
