Obituary of Swarn Kaur Parmar
August 19, 1938 – September 10, 2022
Swarn Kaur Parmar passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at the age of 84 years old.
A woman of undeniable spunk, Swarn will be remembered for the grace and devotion with which she cared for her family. Always available with a smile, a sweater and a banana, she took an active role in raising her many grandchildren. Swarn was affectionate and warm, and her hugs and kisses will be deeply missed by the family. She was incredibly proud of the accomplishments and milestones of her children and grandchildren and encouraged them to pursue their dreams.
Swarn took great pride in fulfilling her duties as a mother and military wife. Her children will greatly miss her home-cooked meals, made with vegetables from the garden she tended to with so much care. Her husband, Col. Rattan Singh Parmar, will undoubtedly miss his morning tea partner, ludo opponent and greatest source of strength.
Please join us as we celebrate a life filled with love and say goodbye to our beloved matriarch. Funeral Services will be held at Calgary Crematorium Chapel, (3219 – 4th Street NW, within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
