Susie’s Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we, the family of the late Susie Delores Parsons (nee Osmond) announce her peaceful passing, at the age of 84 years, on Thursday September 22nd, 2022 at her residence in Channel-Port aux Basques, NL with her loving children by her side. Born in Middle Barachois, NL, Susie was the daughter of the late John and Annie Osmond (nee Pearce). She was also predeceased by her husband; Harvey Parsons, daughter; Annie Walsh, son in-law; Jack Sweet, great grandson; Mccoy, father and mother-in-law; Richard and Sarah Parsons, sisters; Alice (George) Tapp and Caroline (Manny) Ingram, brothers; Harold (Shirley) Osmond, Albert (Vera) Osmond, George Osmond, Gerald Osmond, and brother-in-law; Issac Patey.
She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her children; Brenda Sweet, Brian (Tracy) Parsons, both of Port aux Basques, NL, Bob (Mylita) Parsons of Lower Sackville, NS, Delores (Ralph) Drake of Belleoram, NL, Harriet (Robert) Bragg of Port aux Basques, NL, Jason (Tracey) of Alberta, Jamie (Holly) Parsons of Port aux Basques, NL, son in-law; Jerry Walsh of Port aux Basques, NL, grandchildren; Wendy Sweet, Anthony (Nikki) Sweet, Sarah Lear, Allison Parsons, Paschal (Tanya) Parsons, Zackary (Brynn) Parsons, Roslyn (Israel) Savoury, Robert (Carole) Savoury, John (Amanda) Drake, Chantelle (Rick) Skinner, Tyler (Lacey) Parsons, Tyson (Angelique) Bragg, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Susie also leaves behind her sisters; Nora Patey of Cape Ray, NL, Rachel (Walter) Osmond, Yvonne (Clifford) Short both of Port aux Basques, NL, brother; Elias (Beatrice) Osmond of Cape Ray, NL, sisters in-law; Mary Short of Cape Ray, NL and Una Osmond of Port aux Basques, NL, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family would like to thank Susie’s home care-workers; Lacey Pike and Margaret Patey who have provided exceptional care to her.
Visitation will be held on Monday September 26th from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm at at East Haven funeral Home Inc., 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques, NL. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday September 27th at 2 p.m. from St. James Anglican Church, Channel-Port aux Basques officiated by Rev. Jane Allen. Interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Susie can be made to a charity of ones choice.
