Obituary of Susan Gladys Alexander
March 20, 1947- January 2, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Grammy.
No one feels this love more than Gerry, the love of her life. They shared an unbreakable and powerful bond that nothing got between. Her second great love was her grandchildren. Nothing made her happier than embracing their lives and loving them.
Sue was a master seamstress and gardener. As an entrepreneur she owned and operated “Stitch By Stitch” in Fernie for many years.
After moving to Perry Creek, she continued her sewing as well as gardening, reading and puzzle solving. Her ability to love so deeply is felt in the pain of our loss. She unconditionally opened her arms and embraced those she loved with her entire being.
Susan is survived by her loving husband Gerry Alexander, 3 children Cynthia (Rick), Lee (Karen), and Sandra (Robert), grandchildren Curtis, Eric, Stephanie, Tessa, Jessica, Laura, and Josh, great-grandchildren Xavier, Cruz, Raiden, and Mable, her siblings Dean, Aurelian (Clayton), Mike, Mark, Pat, Laurie.
Susan was predeceased by her parents Secord and Charles Giles, and by her sister Nancy Giles.
A Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date in the spring.
Donations may be made to the East Kootenay Foundation for Health.
Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Services.
