JACKSON, Susan (née Last) of RR#3 Hastings, Concession 2 Asphodel Township, at Northumberland Hills Hospital, Cobourg on June 11, 2022. Beloved wife of Robert Bertram Jackson. Loving mother of David (Aliona, Montréal), and the late Steven (2012) (Gloria, Edmonton). Proud grandmother of Matthew, Brittany, Elyse, and Brianna. Born in Maidstone, Kent, England, 23 July 1937, daughter of the late Victor Harold and Betty (née Keeley) Last. Sister of Margaret (late Alan) Gagie, Richard Hugh (Brenda) Last, and the late Robert Jeremy Last (1974). Susan received her Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology from Trent University in 1985, a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University in 1987, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Waterloo University in 1997. She worked at the Quaker Oats from 1956 to 1963; the CIBC from 1969 to 1978; CHEX from 1978 to 1984; and most proudly as a secondary school teacher with the Kawartha Pine Ridge Public School Board of Education (1987 to 2001), and happily continued as a supply teacher until 2017 (age 80). Susan loved her children and grand-children above all else, but good friends, gardening, reading, and sewing also gave her great joy. After a brief and courageous battle. Cremation has taken place.
