Barkley, Susan Carol, age 49. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Susan. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 24, 2022 with her mother by her bedside. Susan faced many challenges in her life. She met each challenge with courage and a smile. Her smile was so contagious that it would light up a room and melt your heart. She was loved by so many and will be greatly missed. Susan loved going to the beach, shopping and Conway Twitty music. She loved her family and her church family. She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.
Preceded in death by her daddy, Bill Barkley; grandparents, Lucille and William Barkley, Sr. and Ulas and Bessie Pratt; uncle, Mike Barkley and a much loved “auntie” Rosalee Miller.
Survived by loving and devoted mother, Betty Barkley; aunt and uncle, Jewel and Leon Bell; aunt, Jane Barkley; favorite cousins, Brad Bell and Matt Miller, along with several other cousins; loving friends, Nikki Noble and Amber Edrington. A special thank you to the nurses Brigid and LiLi who cared for Susan.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. The funeral will follow at 7:00 PM with Reverend Darren Kitts and Reverend Robert Haskins officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 AM on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 for a 11 AM interment at Trentville Cemetery.
