Sue Ann Longfield 2022

Obituary of Sue Ann Longfield
It is with profound sadness that the family of Sue Ann Longfield (Hart) announce her passing at home surrounded by her family, to be reunited with her loving husband Rick.
Sue was born in Stratford in 1950. She graduated from teachers’ college in 1970 and taught at St James’s Secondary school in Guelph. She married Dr Richard Longfield in 1972 and moved to North Battleford Saskatchewan for a short time. They later moved to St. Marys, and while raising her family Sue graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. Her teaching career in St Marys was spent at Holy Name of Mary School where she taught for several years.
She is survived by her children Robin (Leon Maclean) of Newport Pagnell, U.K, Jay (Karolyn) of Callendar, and Ian of Stratford. The joys of her life were her six grandchildren, Sophia and Alesha, Ashlyn and Gavin and Hayden and Willow. She is also survived by her sisters Paula (Chris McKeough) of Kitchener, Jo-Del (Clare Boshart) of Stratford, Michele (Stew MacSorley) of Waterloo and Corrie (Craig Schlemmer) of Stratford. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years Dr Richard Longfield and parents Joseph and Madeline Hart.
Sue will be remembered for her love of teaching and children. She also loved travelling and spending time in her garden, as well as spending time with her friends with a glass of red wine.
The family would like to thank the CCAC Palliative Care team as well as close friends for helping Sue through her journey with their care and compassion. Following cremation, a private family service will be conducted.
Memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice.

  1. Sincere condolences to the Longfield family. We only knew Rick and Sue a short time while living at Thames Valley .
We quickly became friends and enjoyed our social times together. They leave a special spot in our ❤️ Forever!
