HAWMAN, (JOHN) STEWART (October 10, 1944 – April 13, 2022)
Stewart (Stew) died after a lengthy illness from Parkinson’s disease with dementia. He will be greatly missed by many, especially his wife, Theresa Lannan, brother-in law Michael Lannan (Lucie), sisters-in-law Margaret Parks (Don) and Catherine Brothers (John), sisters Mary Gale Race (Doug Race) and Ellen Hawman, nieces Carrie Race (Bert James) and Victoria Starkey, nephews Scott Race and Gary Ashley, great-nephew Nathaniel Starkey-Race, great-nieces Jessica Ashley, Jena Ashley and Chelsea Starkey, great-great niece Octavia Starkey, and many cousins and friends.
Stewart was predeceased by his father Henry (died 1991), his mother Frances (died 2005) and his brother Raymond (Ray) (died 2014).
Stewart attended Woodbridge Public and High Schools, then studied engineering at University of Toronto and business at Western University, making many life-long friends at all. He and his brother Ray worked together for many years in their auto sales and leasing business, Hawman Brothers.
Stewart will be remembered by many for his kindness, generosity, and sense of humour. His winning smile was infectious and brightened the hearts of many throughout his life. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
The family would like to express appreciation for the compassionate care Stewart received from the staff at Palmerston District Hospital and the Strathcona Long Term Care Centre in Mount Forest.
A celebration of Stewart’s life will be held this summer for family and close friends.
Donations to Parkinson’s Canada in Stewart’s name would be appreciated.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Stewart
