STEWART MARGERY RUBY 2022

Margery Ruby Stewart passed away in her 97th year on July 15, 2022, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was a loving mother of Janet Spring (John) of Elmvale, Edith Yearwood (Bryan) of Aurora, and Edna Gibson (Ron) of Richmond Hill. She will be missed by her nine grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Margery was predeceased by her loving spouse, Guy Stewart (2015).
Our mom was the centre of our family, loving and encouraging all of her children and grandchildren to enjoy education and succeed in all life’s endeavours. Margery was a freelance writer who went back to school in her early 50s to complete her undergraduate degree in English Literature followed by her Master in Library Science at the University of Toronto. These accomplishments were ones that she had always dreamed of completing as she stayed home to raise her family and write children’s short stories, a novel, and stories that appeared on CBC Radio – The John Drainie Show.
Margery was so pleased to spend her last employment years at the Toronto Reference Library where she shared her love of reading and research with her colleagues and library patrons. We will all miss you Mother, Grandma, and Great Grandma as you finally reconnect with our dad, Papa in the Red, in a better place.
