Steve Maxim

Obituary of Steve Maxim
MAXIM, Steve
Passed away peacefully on July 5 at the age of 96 with his family at his side. Beloved husband of the late Nancy (nee Steel) (2013). Much loved father of Alison Miller (Paul), Nancy Bruce (Rob), and Stef Maxim.
Adored “Puppa” of Layne and Gavin Miller, and Derek and Paige Arthurs. Proud great-grandfather of Finley Clarke and Weston Stephenson. Steve will also be fondly remembered by his brother Charlie and his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son-in-law Scott Arthurs (1996).
Steve was born at home on Aubin Road in 1926 and was number nine in a family of eleven children. He was very close to his “ball team” of brothers George, William, Nick, Harry, Pete, Danny, John, Charlie and Fred, and his adored sister, Mary Crocker, and their spouses.
Steve enjoyed good health and lived independently until May. He was a member of Fox Glen Golf Club where he played golf until he was 90. The day after his 85th birthday he proudly scored his age and shot his second hole-in-one in the same round. Steve had an incredible memory and shared great stories of growing up in the Ford City area. He was a toolmaker for 47 years and enjoyed a 30-year retirement. A die-hard Leafs and Spitfires fan, Steve always enjoyed sports, an interesting book, and a great meal with family and friends.
The family would like to extend our appreciation to the staff and residents of the Royal Marquis for their compassion and care. Steve will be forever loved and missed.
Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7234 on Thursday July 7, 2022 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm.
