Kelly, Stephen Joseph – Passed peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, March 27th in his 81st year after a courageous and determined battle with cancer. He lived every moment to the fullest and was a strong, admired, respected and gentle man with an amazing sense of humour, quick wit, and many talents. He was gifted with the ability to do anything he set his mind to. Born on December 22, 1941, in Gambo, Newfoundland, he is predeceased by his daughter, Stephanie Ann Kelly, son, Stephen Todd Kelly, parents Elizabeth and Andrew Kelly, brothers Cyril Kelly, Edward Kelly, Joseph Kelly, William Kelly and sister Cecilia Spurrell. He is survived by his wife Patricia Mary Kelly, daughter Rosarie Zimmerman, husband John, and sons Chris Kelly, wife Faye, and Craig Kelly, wife Ida, grandchildren Chelsea, Ashley, Katlyn, Hannah, Owan and Grace and special pets Piper and Candy. Stephen enjoyed his retirement, loved having his family around, and thoroughly enjoyed salmon fishing, moose hunting, rabbit snaring, wood carving and spending time in his garage. In his true nature he didn’t give up on anyone or anything including the Toronto Maple Leafs! He will be dearly missed and live on forever in our hearts.
Perhaps you’ve sent a lovely card or sat quietly in your chair. Perhaps you sent a floral piece, if so, we saw it there. Perhaps you spoke the kindest words that any friend could say: Perhaps you were not there at all, but thought of us that day. Whatever you did to console our hearts, we thank you all so much. May God bless each of you.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral service to be held on Saturday, April 2nd, 2022 at 11:00 am from Our Lady of Perpetual Help R.C. Church, Gambo, NL.
