Stephen Bruce
“Howie” Howard – age 54, of Waterville,
passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 21, 2022 in the Valley
Regional Hospital, Kentville.
Born in Kentville, he
was the son of Sheila (Merritt) Smith, Lower Sackville and the late
Thomas Howard.
Steve worked as an
electrician with Fairline Electric (The Baxter Group) for 34 years. He
was a highly respected man who will be deeply missed by his family,
friends and fellow tradesmen. Howie enjoyed fishing, travelling south
and puttering in the garage. He enjoyed listening to Saturday Night
Classics on AVR with his best friend, David, by his side. Howie played
hockey, was a diehard Montreal Canadiens fan and one of Judge
Judy’s biggest fans.
He is survived by his
wife of 23 years, Heather (Snow); daughter Alyssa (Justin), Kentville;
son, Gavin, Waterville; sisters, Krista (Robert) Morse, Billtown;
Kimberley (Dwayne) Rhynold, Middle Sackville; Tanya Howard,
Waterville; Angela Eisner, Waterville; brother, Kevin (Patty),
Kentville; extended family and many friends.
Cremation has taken
place and there will be no visitation, by request. A funeral service
will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2022 in the White
Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. A
video webcast of the service will be available at that time. A
reception celebrating Howie’s life will be held upstairs in
the Kings Arms Pub immediately following the service. Donations in
memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Canada
or a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted
to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
