Obituary for
Stanley Ormen Gabriel
Gabriel, Stanley O – Age 91, Truro, passed away suddenly on May 24, 2022 at home. Born on December 7, 1930 in Springhill, he was a son of the late Albert and Winnifred (Gero) Gabriel.
He is survived by daughter, Darlene Izzard, New Glasgow; granddaughter, Holly (James) Findlay, Dartmouth and his last surviving sister, the baby of the family, Arlene Noylander, Dartmouth as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marie Gabriel; siblings, Willena Jones, Alberta Martin, Ruth Downey, Helen Paris, Aubrey Gabriel, Doris Gabriel and several siblings in infancy.
Stan was a great lover of horses which he raised and raced in Truro at the track. He was known as “Stan the Man”. In his early life, he worked out West in Elkford, BC as a miner. Upon his return to Nova Scotia, he started a career in horse racing, which he did for almost 50 years.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.

I had the pleasure of working with Stan at the Gays River Mine, we also hunted together. Stan always had a smile and he loved to laugh. I know the family will miss him very much as he was one of the nicest person who I ever met.
