Stanley’s Obituary
Stanley George Osmond, born in Port aux Basques, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Friday, July 22, 2022 at the age of 79 years, in Corner Brook after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born to the late Clifford Cecil and Gladys Osmond (nee Pope). Stan was also predeceased by his brothers; Clifford (Junior) and Harvey Osmond, his dear sister; Clarice (Randell) Pink and sister in-law; Viola Osmond.
Stan leaves behind his beloved wife; Ada, of 40 wonderful years. Brother; Lloyd Osmond, sisters-in-law; Shirley Osmond and Claudia (Clem) Lambe. He also leaves behind the pride and joy of his life, his niece; Janice Baker (Terry Boudreaux), nephew; Randy (Jessica) Baker, great nieces and nephews; Cole, and Morgan Baker, Kandis Baker (Nick Billard). He will be also be missed by many other nieces and nephews and many friends and dear family that reside in Ontario, Ross and Margaret Warriner, Scott Warriner (Julie), Bill Bartlett (Jane), brothers-in-law; David (Irene) of Toronto, Sharon (John) Fort McMurray, Janice (Bill), Roy (Linda) both from New Brunswick, special neighbors that Stan took as his own family; Tim McNeil (Tracey), friends; Leonard and Marie Kendall, as well as his friends and the staff, at both Tim Horton’s and Alma’s Family Restaurant.
Stan worked in Hamilton Ontario at Stelco in the blast furnace department for 30 years. After retiring, it was his dream to return home to enjoy hunting, fishing, and all the things he loved.
Despite his on- going health issues, his pleasant personality was contagious and he never lost his sense of humour. Very special thanks to the community Nurse; Amy Taylor, for her kindness and for being very supportive through out Stan’s illness. Dr. Al Nabbot; his family practitioner and Katie O’Quinn; his kind caregiver, Thank you all.
Visitation taking place on Tuesday, July 26th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home Inc., 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, July 27th at 2 p.m. from East Haven Funeral Home Inc., 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques officiated by Rev. Faye Coffin. Interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in memory of Stanley can be made to the Dr. H Bliss Murphy Centre, 300 Prince Philip Dr, St. John’s, NL A1B 3V6, and MS Society of Canada 250 Dundas Street West, Suite 500 Toronto ON, M5T 2Z5.
