Obituary of Sophie Mikelskas
MIKELSKAS, Sophie (nee Mueller)
February 17, 1935 –
July 12, 2022
It is with great sadness we must announce that Sophie quietly passed away on July 12, 2022. Beloved mother to Carmen MacKay (Michael) and Shirley Roberts (Dario Agnolin). Dear Grandmother to Kate MacKay-Barnby (Michael) and Krissy MacKay (Charles Long), and Cory Roberts. Doting Great- Grandmother to Seren, Eleanore and Winston Barnby.
Born in East Germany, Sophie was an adventurer who, at 19, immigrated to Canada in 1953 where she met and married the love of her life Joe. Sophie and Joe travelled across Canada, east to west and south to north, with countless memories. The cottage in McKellar was their second home and special place.
Thanks and appreciation to the nurses at Hotel Dieu-Grace and Shoreview at Riverside for their care and compassion.
Visitations will be at Windsor Chapel, 1700 Tecumseh Road East, Windsor, on Sunday, July 17, 2022 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Donations in lieu of flowers to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Sophie
