Obituary
Our hearts are breaking but our sweet Sophie’s heart is soaring. She connected our family and our community together beyond measure. We are announcing that our dear Sophie Renee Morissette gained her heavenly angel wings on Tuesday, March 29th 2022 at home with her family by her side in Woodstock, N.B at the age of 14.
Sophie was born on August 21, 2007 at the IWK in Halifax to Richard and Lisa (Patterson) Morissette.
She is survived by her parents, her sisters, Danielle Morissette and Carley O’Donnell (Cory O’Donnell) and nephews Asher and Garrett O’Donnell. Maternal grandparents Michael Patterson (Audrey) and Dale Patterson (Ken McKay). Paternal Grandparent’s Marielle Morissette and the late Marcel Morissette. Sophie is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Sophie has touched the lives of many during her time on this earth and taught us many important teachings. We are forever grateful for the wonderful staff from Bayshore home health and private home care workers and the wonderful school system staff and her teachers’ assistants during her school years.
We would like to thank Dr. Allison Boyle for her immense kindness, first responders, teams from the Stan Cassidy Centre and the Shiner’s Hospital in Montreal. We would also like to thank Lena and Mae Bridal and Cinderella’s closet for making sure our sweet Sophie is dressed as our angel princess. We would also like to thank the Carleton Funeral home for their immense support and generosity during this time.
We celebrate the life she had and even though we are mourning at this time she is everywhere surrounding us with sweet rainbows, cardinals, heart clouds and angel feathers. Rest in paradise sweet Sophie.
Visitation will be held at the Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville NB on Friday April 1, 2022 from 5 to 8PM.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday at St. Gertrude’s Church (now St John the Baptist) on Saturday April 2 at 10 AM.
Interment will be at Calvary cemetery at a later date.
If so desired, a memorial donation in Sophie’s memory can be made to the Shriners Hospital or to Cinderella’s Closet would be appreciated by the family.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Carleton Funeral Home.
