Bathurst – Simonne (Gionet) Buraglia, of Bathurst, passed away peacefully at the Bathurst Regional Hospital, on the first day of April, 2022. Born in Bas-Caraquet, NB, Simonne was the daughter of the late Joseph A.D. Gionet and Françoise Cormier of Bas-Caraquet, NB.
Simonne is survived by her son Thomas Buraglia of Bathurst, her daughter Tanya Buraglia (son-in-law Benjamin Kuttner) of Toronto, ON, and her beloved grandson Emanuel Kuttner of Toronto, ON, as well as her sisters: Claire Mainville, Jeanine Foulem, Diane Gionet, Normande LeBouthillier and brothers Normand and Simon Gionet.
Simonne is predeceased by her beloved husband, Emmanuel “Manu” Buraglia, of Bathurst NB, her daughter Sarah Buraglia of Montréal, PQ and her sisters Huberte Blanchard, Yolande Backman and Alfreda Blanchard.
Simonne was a life-long hairdresser who touched many lives and who many confided in. She shouldered others’ burdens, but never let anyone leave her chair without a smile. In recent years, she could most often be seen walking the beach with her much loved dog, Chewy.
She will be remembered for her laughter, kindness, determination and “joie de vivre”.
