Shirley Margaret Milne 1934 2022

Obituary of Shirley Margaret Milne
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Shirley Margaret Milne, 88, who passed peacefully the morning of Thursday, November 2022. Survived by her loving husband George William Milne; daughters Linda (Dennis) Smith, Laurie Milne, and dear friend Claire Whitham; grandchildren Jason, Kimberly (Justin), Marlee (Michael) and Mike; sisters Barbara (Greg) Pruden and Geraldine McCarthy, and nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents John and Greta Mackenzie, and her brother-in-law Bob McCarthy.
Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Shirley spent her early years playing on the family chicken farm, learning to play the piano, and attending the church youth group where she met George (he pushed her into a snowbank). After studying nursing, Shirley graduated and spent the rest of her working years serving and caring for her adored patients. Shirley was warmly remembered as kind, generous, and selfless. She loved well, smiled easily, and was always supporting and encouraging those around her and lending a helping hand. Shirley played the piano beautifully and filled many a holiday party and family get together with cheerful tunes, incredible baked treats, and the very best hugs, in a home where all are welcome.
Family and friends are welcome to join as we celebrate her beautiful life with a luncheon together and visitation held at Dixon Garland Funeral Home on Monday November 21st, 2022 between 12pm-2pm.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Shirley
