Shirley Joyce McLaughlin (nee Butler) beloved wife of the late Earl “Lyle” McLaughlin passed away at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Tuesday June 7th, 2022 at the age of 88. Predeceased by her siblings Jack, Nettie, Mae, Bill, Arras, Kenneth, Gerald, and Betty. Lovingly Aunt to a very special young lady, Elizabeth Karmerman, also to Linda Arseneault and many more nieces and nephews. Special friend of Suzanne, Diane, Lorraine, Brenda, Bonnie, Debbie, Alma, Harriett, and Harry “You are all my Guardian Angels”. Shirley was a caregiver to many children and will be missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. A service to celebrate Shirley’s Life will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street East, Orillia on Wednesday June 15th, 2022, at 11;00 a.m. Interment will take place at Saint Andrew’s – Saint James’ Cemetery in Orillia. A reception and time of fellowship will follow. The family would like to offer a very sincere thank you to the Bayshore nurses and all of Shirley’s caregivers, especially Megan in the ER and Jackie on Soldier’s 1.
