Obituary of Shirley Anne MacDonnell
MacDONNELL, Shirley Anne – age 64 of Enfield, passed away at her daughter’s home in Toronto on March 15th, 2022. Born in Bay St. Anne, she was a daughter of the late Adeston and Amanda Martin.
Shirley married the love of her life, Burton “Bertie” MacDonnell on September 23, 1994. Together, they united two families and made them one. She enjoyed staying back at the camp, fishing trips and drives in the woods. She was also well known for enjoying baking and keeping up the family tradition of making Christmas meat pies. Later in life, Shirley loved watching her family grow, spending time with family and friends and her daily Skypes with her sisters and family.
She is survived by her children, Scott (Tammy), Penny (Alex), Dwayne (James); grandchildren, Andrew (Rebecca), Jordon (Grace), Marina (Abbas) and Colton; great grandchild, Faith; first husband and the father of her children, Harold Froude; sisters, Rose and Diane; brother Junior; many extended family members and friends.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Burton; brothers, Marcel, Maurice and Roger.
Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, April 11th in Ettinger Funeral Home, 860 Highway 2, Elmsdale, followed by a reception. Following the reception there will be the interment in St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Enfield. Masks aren’t required but are encouraged.
