Shirley Vachal
1936-2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Shirley Irene
Vachal (Stuart) announces her sudden passing on Monday, February 1st,
2021 at the age of 84, following a lengthy battle with
Leukemia.
Our beloved and devoted mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and friend, you will be
greatly missed by all who knew you.
Shirley was a beautiful ray of sunshine to anyone that she
met. So full of love, understanding, kindness and compassion, you
could simply be in her presence forever. She radiated love and
affection, and never had a bad word to say about anyone. She was the
voice of reason, and had an answer for anything, and it was always a
positive one. She was the epitome of kindness. She was a person you
could always turn to. She was the light in a dark place. She was the
love, when people showed us hate. She was the comfort when we were
scared. She had the brightest blue eyes and a smile that could
brighten up anyone’s day. She was our Angel on Earth, and now she is
our Angel in Heaven. We miss you so much Momma, Nanny
Shirley.
Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 63
years, Stanley Vachal; children: Stanley Jr. Vachal, Christena Vachal,
Scott Vachal, Peggy (Roger) Vachal; grandchildren: Angela McGrath,
Stephanie McGrath, Matthew Steadman and Jonathan Steadman;
great-grandchildren: Emily McGrath, and Xavier. She is also survived
by sister, Katherine; and brother, Donnie.
Shirley was predeceased by her parents: George, and
Christena; siblings: Helen, Edward, Reggie, John, Robert, Gladys,
Gloria, Jimmy, Gordy, Ernie, and Maudy.
There will be no visitation or service at this time due to
Shirley’s request. Cremation has taken
place. Public graveside service for Stanley and
Shirley will be held at 2pm Wednesday, August 17, in Hillside
Cemetery. Reception to follow in the Hillside
Hall.
Special thanks to the VON, Palliative care, and all other
HCP’s who helped in the care of Shirley. Arrangements are under the
direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Home.
Psalm
23
The Lord is my Shepherd; I Shall
not want.
He maketh me lie down in green
pastures; He leadeth me beside the still
waters.
He restoreth my soul; He leadeth
me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I
walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil;
for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort
me.
Thou preparest a table before me
in the presence of mine enemies; Thou anointest my head with oil; my
cup with runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall
follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the houses of
the Lord forever. Amen.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Shirley Vachal 19362021..
